LivePerson, a leading provider of online chat software, is planning a massive Global Media campaign that starts in October 2008, to promote their database of 35,000+ Experts that was recently acquired from Kasamba Inc.

  1. It is important, in today’s information overload to take advantage of the power of multimedia with a viral marketing message and this campaign is a good idea.

    Some criticisms I have to offer are first of all; that 5 minutes is too long to hold one’s attention and secondly, the message seems fractured and unfocused. It appears from what I can seen from it, that there are several types of audiences which this is intended to appeal to. It would be far more effective if this were broken up into (what appears to be) three different 30 second spots which would more directly appeal to your market segments.

    Perhaps I am mistaken, but it looks like it is intended to appeal to information seekers, experts and corporate investors. Each target group has distinctively different concerns which motivate them and this video loses each when the message changes its focus.

    Please do not misconstrue my remarks as being anything other than a desire to see this campaign succeed. I do believe such initiatives are necessary for creating success and I certainly do respect the time and energy invested in its development, so I will apologize in advance if my comments are found to be offensive.
